PS 321 Families:
is hard to believe how quickly the year is flying by! As always, one of the joys of being at PS 321
is the amazing sense of community here. That certainly has been evident this
spring. It was wonderful to have so many of you
accompany us on our Walkathon for a Healthy Planet—what a fabulous event. We’re very much looking forward to sending
checks to Transportation Alternatives and Amazon Watch, and we’ll let you know the
amount we raised once we add up what we’ve collected. Your support for our rally protesting the ELA
exam in early April was incredibly gratifying.
And, our Family Diversity Night, “Around the World in 80 Minutes,” was
once again a huge success. Our school’s
international community has grown dramatically in recent years, and we are all greatly
enriched by this diversity.
are so many other ways in which the collaboration between families and staff makes
PS 321 such a special place. Thanks to
the work of the Green and Healthy Committee, we now have salad bar 5 days a
week—with fourth graders serving during the second lunch period and parent
volunteers during the first. And, our
Technology Committee of parents and staff has been hard at work all year and
has exciting plans for technology for the 2014-15 school year. Another great collaboration between staff
and families is our Poetry Magazine, Pandamonium—what a beautiful
publication. If you haven’t yet seen
it, you will have a chance to during June Family Friday.
looking forward to seeing many of you at my grade by grade parent meetings this
spring. You will get a notice home the
week before the meeting. And, our Family
Potluck Dinner on June 4 is always a wonderful event!
is such a lovely time of year as we see the incredible growth that children
have made since September. Listening to
their conversations about books and social studies, reading their writing,
observing them doing math investigations, and hearing about their wonderful spring
trips is so energizing.
you for all that you do to support our community.
